“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Mt 28:19-28

Baptism

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission.”  Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213

Infant Baptism

Preparation consists of a session for parents and godparents of children under the age of seven. Preparation appointments may be made by contacting the parish office.

Initiation Sacraments

The Restored Order of the Sacraments promulgated by Vatican Council II, is Baptism, Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at the age of reason (3rd grade). Sharing in the Holy Eucharist completes our Initiation into the Church. In September of 2017, Curé d’Ars will have the Restored Order in place for all 3rd Graders.

Sacramental preparation classes for these sacraments are held in addition to the religious education sessions held on the second, third, and fourth Sunday of the month from 9:30AM to 10:45AM.

In the year prior to receiving the sacrament as well as in the year in which the sacrament is received, candidates must participate with consistent attendance in worship and Religious Education/Youth Ministry.

In addition, special classes are held several weeks prior to the celebration of the sacrament. Pending research, RCL Benziger Program for Confirmation is currently being used. Please contact the parish office for more information.
